The research at our group has been targeted at two distinct areas related to the algorithmic and numeric side of scientific computing:
- In the area of computer arithmetic we are most involved and known for developing algorithms for the reliable computation of special functions with the focus on validated evaluation.
- In the area of numerical techniques we are most engaged with the data-driven modelling, with the focus on linear regression and non-linear regression by rational functions.
Our group is active in a number of funded research projects.
Case Studies
We have collected a number of case studies, which do not always belong to a particular externally funded research project, but are encouraging success stories of applications of our expertise to real-life problems.
- Computing packet loss probabilities in multiplexer models using adaptive rational interpolation with optimal pole placement
- Adaptive multivariate rational data fitting with applications in electromagnetics
- A test problem from decision making and planning
- Shape reconstruction
- Materials modelling
- Multidimensional digital filter design
- Reliable special functions software
